Martina Petroll is a German-born artist whose passion for art was nurtured from a young age by her father and art teachers. She discovered painting as a profound lifeline during a period of depression, and since then, art has been her “life and soul.”

Primarily working with acrylics, Martina’s practice is driven by a deep curiosity. She fearlessly explores mixed media, experimenting with diverse materials and techniques. This curiosity led her to a unique practice: producing her own pigments from the rich soils of her Kenyan home.

Fascinated with the interplay of light, she draws inspiration from the boundless forms of nature and the human face. Her work fluently spans photorealism, impressionism, abstract, and collage, with sketching and driftwood creations as additional, vital outlets for her creative energy.

Tina’s art is not something you experience with your eyes only. It’s an experience for all your senses as she is not only an excellent painter but she manages to express all the facettes of perception of the motive that she depicts. One can sense all her heartfelt emotions and all else that goes with the motive. If it’s a flower, you can literally smell it, if it’s the sea, you can hear the waves, if it’s a child’s face, you can feel the joy.
What I like most, is the fact that she doesn’t label her paintings! She leaves it up the perception of the observer to find meaning in what he/she sees. True grandeur this is!
